Asian Project Market 2018 Call for Submissions of Projects

 

 

The Asian Project Market (APM) 2018 is receiving applications from feature film projects looking for co-producers and investors.
 
Originally launched in 1998 as the Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP), APM celebrated its 20th edition last year by holding 645 business meetings, the largest number ever. APM has selected 527 projects for las 20 years, and about 230 projects from that group have been completed receiving international attention at various renowned film festivals.


Since Davy Chou’s Diamond Island (Cambodia/France, 2016, APM 2014 project), APM projects have been invited to the Cannes Film Festival three years in a row. Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts by Mouly Surya (Indonesia, APM 2015 project) was screened at the Directors' Fortnight last year and Manto by Nandita Das (India, APM 2015 project) is invited to the Un Certain Regard this year. Blue Wind Blows by Tomina Tetsuya (Japan, APM 2015 project) was also screened at the Berlin International Film Festival 2018. At International Film Festival Rotterdam 2018, four previous projects – The Bold, the Corrupt and the Beautiful by Yang Ya-Che (APM 2012 project), Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts by Mouly Surya, Silent Mist by Zhang Miaoyan (APM 2015 project), and The Song of Scorpions by Anup Singh (APM 2014 project) – were highly praised by both critics and audiences.


Moreover, many projects are ready to meet audience at home and abroad, including The Science of Fictions by Yosep Anggi Noen (Indonesia, APM 2014 project). In Korea, Min Kyudong’s Herstory (APM 2017 project) and Kim Jee-woon’s Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade (APM 2013 project) are also working on theatrical releases.
 
APM will select creative feature film projects of both young and well-known directors in Asia and throughout the world. Business meetings with investors and co-producers will be held at the Busan International Film Festival, from October 7th to 9th.
